October 18 2017 - "Positive health symbols can drive purchase decisions"

CLYMBOL researcher Dr Sinne Smed from Copenhagen University presents the latest findings on the role of health symbols (e.g., Choices logo, Keyhole symbol) on household purchases in Denmark and the Netherlands. Results are presented at the International Conference on Nutrition (ICN) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

In short:

  • Positive health symbols provide valuable information to consumers - they are willing to pay more for products carrying such symbols
  • Since its introduction, Dutch consumers have bought more products carrying the Choices logo within the respective product categories
